York Theatre Royal has announced the full cast and creative team for its revival of The Secret Garden – The Musical, opening on 19 March 2026, with previews from 17 March, and running until 4 April.

The Tony Award-winning Broadway musical, with book and lyrics by Marsha Norman and music by Lucy Simon, will be directed and designed by Tony Award-winner John Doyle.

The cast features Catrin Mai Edwards as Martha, Joanna Hickman as Lily, Henry Jenkinson as Archibald, Elliot Mackenzie as Dickon, Ann Marcuson as Mrs Winthrop, Elizabeth Marsh as Mrs Medlock, André Refig as Neville, and Steve Simmonds as Ben. Estella Evans and Poppy Jason share the role of Mary Lennox, while Cristian Buttaci and Dexter Pulling share the role of Colin. The ensemble includes Stephanie Cremona, Matthew James Hinchliffe, Lara Lewis, and Melinda Orengo.

The creative team comprises Catherine Jayes (Musical Supervisor and Orchestrator), David L Arsenault (Co-Designer), Gabrielle Dalton (Costume Designer), Johanna Town (Lighting Designer), Tom Marshall (Sound Designer), and Ginny Schiller CDG (Casting Director).

John Doyle said, “It’s such a privilege to bring the story of The Secret Garden back to its Yorkshire roots and to bring it to life on the York Theatre Royal stage with the support of this wonderful creative team. We have an immensely talented cast of actor-musicians on board and I can’t wait to start rehearsals next month.”
