The Young Vic has announced the full cast for the world premiere of Thelma & Louise, a new musical adaptation of Callie Khouri’s Oscar and Golden Globe-winning film.

The production will run in the Main House from 3 September to 24 October 2026, with a press night scheduled for 16 September.

Reimagined for the stage by Khouri, Thelma & Louise features music and lyrics by Grammy-nominated artist Neko Case and is directed by Trip Cullman.

Olivier Award nominees Amy Lennox and Rachel Tucker will play the titular roles of Thelma and Louise.

They are joined by Trevor Dion Nicholas as Hal, Jordan Luke Gage as JD, Samuel Edwards as Darryl, Alex Gibson-Giorgio as Jimmy, Letita Hector as Sarah, Tamlyn Henderson as Harlan/Max, and Jack Butterworth as Trooper/Singer.

The ensemble includes Suzie McAdam, Eleanor Walsh, Alex Given, Kamilla Fernandes, Rushand Chambers and Joshua Dever.

The story follows two friends whose spontaneous getaway takes a dramatic turn, testing their friendship and courage.

“I guess I went a little crazy, huh?”

On a whim, Louise invites her best friend Thelma for a spontaneous weekend getaway.

After an ill-fated encounter with a stranger at a roadside honkytonk, their lifelong friendship is forged into something dangerous and unbreakable.

Propelled by a soaring musical score, they set out on a last-chance adventure in a world where every card is stacked against them.

The creative team includes choreography by Bobbi Jene Smith and Or Schraiber, scenography by Christine Jones and Brett J. Banakis, and costume design by Ryan Dawson Laight.

Lighting design is by Natasha Chivers, sound design by Gareth Owen, with musical supervision by Kimberly Grigsby and orchestration by John Clancy.

The production is a co-production between the Young Vic, Sonia Friedman Productions, Blue Spruce Productions, Ley Line Entertainment, and Callie Khouri, alongside Mandy Greenfield in association with MGM on Stage.
