Theatre Royal Windsor has announced full casting for Our Man in Havana, a new adaptation of Graham Greene’s novel by Clive Francis.
The production will open at Theatre Royal Windsor from Wednesday 1 July to Saturday 11 July 2026, with a national press performance on Wednesday 8 July, before touring the UK.
Jack Ashton, known for Call The Midwife, will star as Wormold, alongside Bob Barrett, Leon Ockenden and Jodie Steele.
The four-strong cast will play over 30 characters, bringing 1950s Havana to life in this fast-paced and comic story.
Our Man in Havana follows vacuum cleaner salesman James Wormold, who is recruited as a spy in pre-revolutionary Cuba.
Unable to carry out real espionage, he invents a network of agents and imaginary intelligence, only for his reports to spiral into dangerous consequences.
The production is directed by Philip Wilson, with set and costume design by Julie Godfrey, lighting by Nick Richings, and sound design by Andy Graham.
Anne-Marie Woodley, Theatre Director and Head of Venues for Bill Kenwright Ltd, said: “This play is an absolute gem; witty, mischievous, and thoroughly entertaining. At a time when the world feels particularly heavy, it offers the kind of joyful escapism audiences are longing for. Philip and the company have created a production that reminds us how brilliantly theatre can lift our spirits and shine a light on the absurdities of life. In times like these, a dash of theatrical mischief isn’t just welcome… it feels essential.”
Following its Windsor run, the production will tour to Salisbury Playhouse, Oxford Playhouse, Theatre Royal Bath, Yvonne Arnaud Theatre Guildford, Cheltenham Everyman Theatre, Malvern Theatres, and Cambridge Arts Theatre.
