McFly star Harry Judd will play Coach Bolton in the final two performances of Disney’s High School Musical at Lowry, Salford on Saturday 19 September 2026.
Judd takes over the role from Jason Donovan, who is currently playing Coach Bolton in Salford, Judd will continue in the role when the production transfers to London’s Troubadour Wembley Park Theatre from 12 October 2026 until 3 January 2027.
The production stars Disney icon KayCee Stroh as Ms Darbus, Tobias Turley as Troy Bolton, Leonor Correia as Gabriella Montez, Caitlin Tipping as Sharpay Evans and Luke Bayer as Ryan Evans.
Celebrating the 20th anniversary of the iconic Disney Channel film, High School Musical features a book by David Simpatico, with music adapted, arranged and produced by Bryan Louiselle.
Audiences can expect beloved songs including Breaking Free, We’re All In This Together, Get’cha Head in the Game and Stick to the Status Quo.
The musical is co-directed by Joseph Houston and William Whelton, with choreography by Aaron Renfree, set design by Andrew Exeter, sound design by Matt Peploe, video design by George Reeve, lighting design by Rory Beaton and costume design by Sophia Pardon.
Based on the hugely successful Disney Channel Original Movie, High School Musical premiered on stage in 2006 and has since enjoyed productions around the world, including a London premiere at the Hammersmith Apollo in 2008.
