Following a triumphant UK tour and previous London seasons, the critically acclaimed parody Hold On To Your Butts is set to return to the West End this summer.
The production will run at the Arts Theatre from 7 July to 31 August 2025, with performances taking place under The Choir of Man. Tickets are on sale now.
Described by WhatsOnStage as “a hilarious and irreverent hour-and-a-bit” and hailed by All That Dazzles as “a show that should never go extinct,” Hold On To Your Butts is a shot-for-shot parody of the greatest dinosaur film of all time.
Performed by just two actors and a live Foley artist, the show is a wildly inventive blend of comedy, physical theatre, and lo-fi spectacle.
Producers Sally Cade Holmes and Heather Shields said: “We’re thrilled to be playing our third London season after a Jurassic jaunt around the UK – proof that, like a certain prehistoric park, life really does find a way.”
Created by New York-based ensemble Recent Cutbacks, the production is directed by Kristin McCarthy Parker (Puffs, Or: Seven Increasingly Eventful Years at a Certain School of Magic and Magic), and developed with Nick Abeel, Kyle Schaefer, and Blair Busbee.
The cast features Jack Baldwin (The Play That Goes Wrong, The Comedy About A Bank Robbery), Charlie Richards (The Unfriend, The Play That Goes Wrong), who also serves as Associate Director, and live Foley artist Charlie Ives (A Christmas Carol – A Ghost Story, Private Lives).
Lighting design is by Christopher Nairne, with a cappella arrangements by Kelsey Didion.
Recent Cutbacks are renowned for their unique brand of live movie parodies that fuse humour, nostalgia, and theatrical ingenuity.
