Following critically-acclaimed performances at the King’s Head Theatre and OSO Art Centre, In Her Element Theatre Company are taking the high octane, heart-warming and probing new comedy drama, Text & Delete, to the Etcetera Theatre in Camden, in a production supported using public funding by Arts Council England.
Text & Delete follows the journey of two young women, as they realise for the first time what it truly means to live in a world where the colour of your skin motivates unfathomable violence, where rent is impossible to afford, and where your body shape simply doesn’t fit in. It holds a mirror up to our society, showing that at the end of the day, human connection is the key to survival.
Text & Delete is suitable for the young, who understand the intricacies of online dating, the middle aged, who remember the fun of ‘flat mate’ living, and the elderly, who love a good old fashioned mystery.
To promote the show, writers and performers Kat Stidston and Ellie Gallimore recently took to the streets of Camden to hand out flyers. Reflecting a subplot in the show about navigating the dating scene as tall women, Kat walked through Camden on stilts: though as a skilled stiltwalker, she was perfectly comfortable to do this.
The Camden run of the show is supported using public funding by Arts Council England, with the performance being supplemented by free workshops for young people in London and Essex, and post-show meet and greets with the Camden community.
Formed of East 15 graduates, In Her Element Ltd. was created in April 2022, with a determination to provide emerging artists with paid professional opportunities. They specialize in female centric, and culturally relevant new writing and revivals.
Text & Delete is performing at the Etcetera Theatre in Camden between the 9th and 13th May.
