You’re starring in Sabrage at Lafayette London—what can you tell us about the show?

Sabrage is like a champagne celebration that you didn’t know you needed so badly. It’s exciting, jaw dropping, funny, beautiful, sexy and everything in between; and most importantly, it’s a show you’re going to remember!

Sabrage combines circus and cabaret in a unique way. How does this blend of genres enhance the storytelling and audience experience?

Sabrage creates this unique storyline with ebbs and flows to give you a second to recover before the next big bang, whilst simultaneously being a big feast for your eyes and keeping it interesting with the multiple genres. It truly feels super unique.

Review: Sabrage at Lafayette London

The cast of Sabrage features performers with diverse and impressive backgrounds. What has it been like working alongside such a talented ensemble?

It has been an honour really… such an incredible experience. Everyone has such rich history in their art, both cast and crew, and I’m finding we are all blending our minds together and meshing to create the experience that Sabrage is. You never really know what you’re going to get in a new cast, but everybody has the same energy and goal in mind, and it makes working together an absolute treasure.

As an aerialist, acrobat, and roller skater, your performances are physically demanding. Can you share what goes into preparing for a show like Sabrage?

I am doing quite a bit in this show, from dancing to character work, then to my specialty of rollerskating and aerial. I like to do a thorough full body warmup before, and throughout the show with resistance bands and pull up bar, as well as some weightlifting / cardio at the gym earlier in the day. Naturally you become ‘show fit’ as time passes, but I like to work extra during the day to be physically strong too!

Lafayette is known for hosting some of the biggest names in music. How does this venue contribute to the atmosphere and intimacy of Sabrage?

Lafayette has got so many layers to it, it’s like a gift that keeps on giving. From a warm welcome on entry to the hidden speakeasies trickled around the venue. The eclectic and traditional decor, everything contributes. My favourite is obviously the theatre space having a balcony, it really adds to the show being AROUND you.

What would you say to anyone thinking of booking to see Sabrage?

Do it! Get excited! Sabrage is a show that tastes even better when you pair it with your smiles and great energy. This show isn’t your regular theatre show, and you’ll walk out feeling like you’ve done an ab workout if you let yourself loose in here!
