You’re starring in The Addams Family on tour; what can you tell us about the show?
Addams family is an amazing show full of joyous laughter, incredible songs, mesmerising dance numbers and an astounding cast. The story of Wednesday Addams journey into love, set against the kind of chaos that only the Addams family can provide.
Uncle Fester is such a beloved and quirky character-how do you approach bringing them to life on stage?
There have been some very strong and bold character choices made by people who’ve played Fester which is a testament to how versatile the character is. I’ve tried to make Fester my own without losing the essential thread that makes him so popular.
The Addams Family is known for its unique blend of humour and heart. What do you think makes this musical stand out from other productions you’ve worked on?
Each production has its own unique flavour and The Addam’s Family is no different I would say its blend of dark humour fantastically performed by this wonderful cast
The show features a live orchestra and an original score. How does the music influence your performance and the atmosphere on stage?
There are few things more intoxicating than singing with a live orchestra. The way the music seamlessly weaves the show together and elevates the scenes and informs one’s character choices is a true gift from the composer.
With such an iconic cast and creative team, what has been the most memorable moment in rehearsals so far?
There is not one specific moment for me but watching the show come together as the characters grow and form is always breathtaking
