Evelyn Hoskins stars in Joy Productions inaugural pantomime Jack And The Beanstalk at the Broadway Theatre, Catford, marking a new addition to London’s festive calendar.

Written and directed by Susie McKenna, the cast includes Siobhan Athwal, Derek Elroy, Ben Fox, Evelyn Hoskins, Wayne Rollins and Durone Stokes. The voice of the harp will be played by Sharon D Clarke and the voice of the Giant by Cavin Cornwall.

The production opens on 15 December, with previews from 13 December and runs until 31 December. Tickets are on sale here.

You’re starring in Jack and The Beanstalk, what can you tell us about this new pantomime?

It’s a classic panto with new energy and loads of laughs!

This is the inaugural production for Joy productions, how does it feel to be part of it?

So special, we’ve been rehearsing for a week now and I can already tell how incredible it’s going to be! I feel very lucky to be a part of it.

What was it about Susie McKenna’s script that made you want to be part of the production?

If anyone knows Panto it’s Susie! Watching her work is a masterclass and she is what drew me to this project.

You’re playing SJ, what are you loving about the character?

She’s not your typical female panto character, she has grit. She’s Jack’s best mate as well as being a feminist eco warrior!

What are you looking forward to most about working in panto over the festive season?

I love Panto at Christmas, looking out and seeing different generations all enjoying one show is so special.

What would you say to anyone thinking of booking to see Jack and the Beanstalk?

Come along! Especially if you’re local to Catford! This show has so much heart. And there’s a baddie called Boris, but I won’t say anymore, you’ll have to book your tickets to find out…
