The King’s Head Theatre has unveiled its exciting 2025 Autumn Season, featuring a long-awaited Philip Ridley revival, transfers from the Watermill Theatre and Off-Broadway, and a new show from Fringe legends Awkward Productions. The season, running from August 2025 to early 2026, goes on sale today in celebration of World Theatre Day.

Kicking off the season in August is the first major revival of Philip Ridley’s The Pitchfork Disney since Jamie Lloyd’s 2017 production. Directed by Max Harrison and produced by Lidless Theatre, Zoe Weldon, and King’s Head Theatre Productions, this darkly comic and unsettling play will run from 27 August to 4 October.

From 3 September to 3 October, the UK premiere of the Off-Broadway cult hit Invasive Species will take the stage. Written by and starring Maia Novi, this dark comedy tells the true story of an Argentinian actress in a youth psychiatric ward who dreams of making it in American movies. Directed by Michael Breslin and produced by Folk Productions, Invasive Species has been hailed as one of the best cultural works of the year by The Hollywood Reporter.

Following this, from 10 October to 15 November, is the London transfer of Fanny, a life-enhancing comedy that enjoyed a successful run at the Watermill Theatre. Written by Calum Finlay and directed by Katie-Ann McDonough, the show stars Charlie Russell as Fanny Mendelssohn, who intercepts her brother Felix’s invitation to play for Queen Victoria.

In December, the theatre will present its second annual pantomime, Jack and the Beanstalk, written and directed by Andrew Pollard. The show will feature both family-friendly and adults-only performances.

Running alongside the pantomime from 2 December to 3 January is The Fit Prince (who gets switched on the square in the frosty castle the night before (insert public holiday here)), a new show from Awkward Productions. This parody of holiday rom-coms will premiere at the Edinburgh Fringe before its London run. Awkward Productions will also return with Diana: The Untold and Untrue Story for two nights only on 30 and 31 May.

Sofi Berenger, Acting CEO of King’s Head Theatre, expressed her excitement about the new season: “As we announce the full programme for our second year in the new venue, it’s a real honour to be co-producing and presenting with such incredible producers and artists. Thanks to the Angels of Angel Production fund, this year we’re able to co-produce The Gang of Three, The Pitchfork Disney, our pantomime Jack and the Beanstalk, and Awkward Productions’ new show The Fit Prince. I’m really proud of the Autumn season, all of which lives up to the scale of our new auditorium, and marks our first major revival, with transfers from the Watermill and Off-Broadway before our Christmas season.”
