The English National Opera (ENO) has announced the appointment of Jenny Mollica as Chief Executive of ENO and the London Coliseum. Mollica, who has been serving as Interim Chief Executive since August 2023, steps into her new role immediately.

Dr. Harry Brünjes, Chairman of ENO, expressed his enthusiasm for Mollica’s appointment, highlighting her compelling vision and dedication to the future of the company. Following an extensive global search, the Board unanimously decided on Mollica, confident in her ability to lead during this pivotal time.

Jenny Mollica joined ENO in 2020, bringing with her a wealth of experience from her tenure at the Barbican and Guildhall School of Music & Drama. As ENO’s Director of Strategy and Engagement, she spearheaded the company’s learning and participation program, ENO Engage, and played a key role in organizational strategy, policy, and partnership development.

During her time at ENO, Mollica has collaborated closely with the Governing Board and Executive team on strategic management and business planning. She has been instrumental in forging new partnerships, particularly with Greater Manchester, and in expanding ENO’s social impact through initiatives like the award-winning ENO Breathe program, which has reached over 164,000 people nationwide. Additionally, Mollica has led innovative digital projects, including a TV and broadcast venture for Sky Kids and Sky Arts aimed at introducing opera to family audiences.

Before her tenure at ENO, Mollica spent over a decade at the Barbican and Guildhall School of Music & Drama, where she held various roles including Director of Creative Learning. There, she developed diverse participatory programs across multiple art forms. Mollica also serves as Chair of the Board for the Clod Ensemble and is a Member of the Lord Lieutenant’s Cultural Heritage Council for London.

She looks forward to continuing her collaboration with Artistic Director Annilese Miskimmon and the dedicated ENO team.

Miskimmon also shared her excitement about Mollica’s appointment, praising her as a talented and supportive colleague. She looks forward to their continued collaboration as they advance ENO’s ambitious plans.
