Kiln Theatre has announced the full cast and creative team for its forthcoming revival of Natasha Gordon’s acclaimed play Nine Night, with the production’s run extended by popular demand to 2 January 2027.
Directed by Kiln Theatre Artistic Director Amit Sharma, the award-winning drama returns to London in a new production that explores grief, family and tradition through the lens of a traditional Jamaican Nine Night wake.
The cast is led by Sonya Cassidy as Sophie, alongside Estella Daniels as Trudy, Llewella Gideon as Auntie Maggie, Ava Hinds-Jones as Anita, Gary McDonald as Uncle Vincent, Dani Moseley as Lorraine and Javone Prince as Robert.
The production runs from 12 November 2026 to 2 January 2027, with a press night scheduled for 20 November. Additional performances have been added following strong demand, including a captioned performance on 22 December and a BSL-interpreted performance on 8 December.
The creative team includes writer Natasha Gordon, director Amit Sharma, set and costume designer Libby Watson, lighting designer Rory Beaton, sound designer and composer Mwen, movement director Kloé Dean, voice and dialect coaches Hazel Holder and Claudette Williams, casting director Julia Horan CDG and casting assistant Poppy Apter.
Nine Night follows a London family gathering after the death of Gloria to observe the traditional Jamaican mourning ritual. As mourners arrive with food, drink and long-held grievances, tensions surface and family secrets begin to emerge.
The play premiered at the National Theatre in 2018 before transferring to the West End, earning widespread critical acclaim and establishing Gordon as one of Britain’s leading contemporary playwrights.

The production continues Kiln Theatre’s commitment to presenting dynamic revivals and stories that reflect contemporary Britain, bringing Gordon’s celebrated exploration of family, identity and community back to the London stage.
