Kiln Theatres Young Company Honeymoon

Kiln Theatres Young Company Honeymoon

Kiln Theatre has remained committed to the Kiln Theatre’s Young Company during lock down, enabling young people to share their thoughts and emotions during the COVID-19 pandemic. In place of the annual showcase in the theatre, the 19-25 Young Company have devised a virtual sharing of their work-in-progress, Honeymoon, to explore the absurdity, difficulty and beauty of our current existence.

Artistic Director Indhu Rubasingham said today, “This is our first ever live digital performance and we hope you will be able to join us as we make Kiln Theatre history! We are so proud to showcase the achievements, talent and creativity of young Londoners during this turbulent time.”

Jenny Batt, Kiln Theatre’s Head of Creative Engagement added, “Honeymoon is a result of the extraordinary creativity, determination and hard work of the young artists in Kiln Young Company. It’s a privilege to collaborate with them in this moment and to share this work in progress.”

In 2016 the United States Department of Health and Human Services commissioned the ‘Phases of Disaster’ report to show how individuals and communities are affected during uncertain times. Regarding the COVID-19 pandemic, we are currently experiencing the ‘Honeymoon’ phase.

So, for how long will this ‘Honeymoon’ last? And how might we help and support eachother to begin the journey to ‘Recovery’?
