Kitchen Zoo are heading back into the deep, dark woods this autumn with The Three Bears, for under 5s and their grown ups at Northern Stage from 25th October – 13th November 2021.

The show was created by Kitchen Zoo in 2018 in association with Northern Stage, directed by Capapie’s Brad McCormick and performed by Bob Nicholson and Hannah Goudie Hunter. Joining Hannah this year is local actor Peter Swales in the role of Daddy Bear.

Kitchen Zoo have been family favourites in the North East since 2017, touring nationally with shows for 3-7s The Owl and the Pussycat & The Tin Foil Astronaut and creating sellout Christmas shows for under 5s at Northern Stage including WOLF! in 2019.

Deep in the forest, Mammy, Daddy and Baby Bear are preparing for winter. Each day The Three Bears head off into the woods to collect interesting things they can re-use for their house.

As winter arrives, their cosy home is turned upside down by a colourful whirlwind that threatens to sit in their chairs, eat their porridge and fall asleep in their beds – it’s Goldilocks!

Hannah Goudie Hunter, who will play Mammy Bear and is a co-founder of Kitchen Zoo said:  â€˜I’m so excited to be back in Mammy Bear’s slippers and bringing the deep dark woods to life. I can’t wait to welcome lots of little and grown up bears into the woods this autumn.’

Bob Nicholson, co-founder of Kitchen Zoo said:  `We’ve had such a brilliant time making shows and building audiences at Northern Stage since 2018, so it’s great to be back and we’re looking forward to meeting everyone in the deep dark woods again. Don’t forget to bring your bears!’
