OnBook Theatre, in association with Park Theatre, presents Lee, a new play by Cian Griffin, directed by Jason Moore, running at Park90 from 24th September to 18th October 2025.

This compelling new drama tells the story of Lee Krasner, the influential artist and widow of Jackson Pollock, as she reflects on her life, her art, and the sacrifices made in the shadow of a more famous partner.

Set in 1969, thirteen years after Pollock’s death, Lee unfolds through a fictional encounter between Krasner and a young art student named Hank. When Hank arrives at her Long Island studio with a mysterious painting allegedly gifted by Pollock, tensions rise and long-buried truths begin to surface.

The production stars triple Olivier Award nominee Issy van Randwyck as Lee Krasner. Her extensive stage credits include Kiss Me Kate (National Theatre), Raving (Hampstead Theatre), and About Time (Goodspeed Opera House). On screen, she has appeared in The Danish Girl, Blithe Spirit, and Downton Abbey.

Director Jason Moore said, “Lee sprang from an idea we had back in 2022 and is the result of painstaking research, set in the New York Art world. But at its core, it’s a play about relationships and the compromises we make for those we love.”

The play features recreated versions of Krasner’s artworks and explores themes of authenticity, legacy, and the blurred lines between inspiration and imitation in the creative process.

OnBook Theatre, founded by Jason Moore and Ian Nicholas, has a strong track record of producing high-quality theatre, including The Elephant Song, God of Carnage, and Rope. Their most recent production was a double bill of Red Peppers and Aged in Wood at the Tabard Theatre.

Lee runs for 75 minutes with no interval and is suitable for ages 12 and up. A relaxed performance will take place on Thursday 9th October at 3:15pm.
