Marisha Wallace to Perform in Streamed Concert Premiere on Thespie

Theatre discovery platform Thespie have announced a special livestream concert featuring Broadway and West End star Marisha Wallace, premiering to audiences around the globe on December 19th at 8pm GMT, and available on demand after the premiere.

Marisha Wallace, the star of the London productions of Dreamgirls and Waitress, will perform songs from her debut album ‘Tomorrow’ (which released last week) along with material from throughout her career on stage and screen. Joining her on the program from The Jazz Café will be special guests Claire Richards from ‘STEPS’ and West End powerhouse Kerry Ellis.

‘Tomorrow’ was named BBC Radio 2 Album of the Week, following the singles ‘Before I Go’ (Single of the Week) and ‘Divine.’ It also includes such classics as ‘Purple Rain’, ‘Climb Ev’ry Mountain’, ‘The Show Must Go On’ (which she duets with Michael Ball), and ‘Alive’ (written by Adele and Sia). The title track is a touching reinterpretation of the hope-filled anthem from the musical Annie, with special resonance amidst the challenges of 2020. Marisha reworked the song while recovering from Coronavirus earlier this year, originally releasing a self-recorded version to raise funds for those in the theatre industry affected by lockdown.

In recent weeks Marisha has performed on Strictly Come Dancing, The Royal Variety Show, and BBC Festival of Remembrance, and sings the hit track ‘Miles and Miles’ in the new Netflix movie musical Jingle Jangle. Next year Marisha returns to theatre performance, playing Motormouth Maybelle in Hairspray at the London Coliseum April – August 2021. She then embarks on a headline UK tour through Autumn 2021.

Streaming tickets for Marisha Wallace: Live From The Jazz Café are £8 per household ($10 for US purchasers, and other currencies available) and available now on Thespie. Purchasers will have 72 hours to watch.
