The Menier Chocolate Factory has announced that Nathalie Harrison will join multi-award-winning actor Jesse Tyler Ferguson in Jay Presson Allen’s Tru, taking over the role of The Swan from Charlotte d’Amboise for the remainder of the production’s run.
Directed by Rob Ashford, Tru opened to critical acclaim last month and continues performances at the Menier Chocolate Factory until 14 November 2026.
Drawn entirely from the words of Truman Capote, the play offers an intimate portrait of the celebrated writer during a turbulent period of his life. Set in December 1975, it finds Capote alone in his New York apartment following a crisis that cost him the friendship of the elite social circle he treasured.
Ferguson leads the production as Capote, following acclaimed stage appearances on both Broadway and the West End. Harrison joins him after a distinguished career with The Royal Ballet, where she performed for nearly two decades before establishing herself as a creative producer, movement director and actor.
The current production of Tru extends a collaboration between Ashford, Ferguson and d’Amboise that began earlier this year at New York City’s House of the Redeemer Library.
Ashford directs a creative team that includes set designer Paul Farnsworth, costume designer Jaimal Odedra, lighting designer Jamie Platt and sound designer Adam Cork.
Originally staged in 1989, Jay Presson Allen’s play remains one of the most celebrated theatrical portraits of Truman Capote, exploring the personal and professional fallout from one of the most controversial periods of his career.
Tru continues at the Menier Chocolate Factory until 14 November 2026.
