The National Theatre has announced further casting details, performance dates and booking information for a number of productions in its 2026 programme.
BAFTA Award-winning actor Anne-Marie Duff will join the world premiere of Some Woman, a new play by Helen Edmundson, directed by Blanche McIntyre. The production will run in the Dorfman Theatre from 7 October to 21 November 2026.
Caryl Churchill’s landmark play Cloud 9 will return to the National Theatre for the first time since 2019. Directed by Dominic Cooke, the new production opens in the Lyttelton Theatre from 2 November 2026 to 13 January 2027, with principal casting including Rebecca Humphries, Eloka Ivo, Tom Mothersdale, Charlotte Ritchie, Ellen Robertson, Stuart Thompson and Sam Troughton.
Dates have also been confirmed for Benedict Andrews’ new play Electra/Persona, featuring Cate Blanchett, Nina Hoss and Ella Lily Hyland. The world premiere will run in the Lyttelton Theatre from 19 August to 10 October 2026.
The National Theatre has also announced a one-week UK premiere run of Catarina and the Beauty of Killing Fascists by Tiago Rodrigues. The politically charged production will be performed in Portuguese with English surtitles in the Dorfman Theatre from 19 to 26 September 2026.
Further dates have been confirmed for a new production of Jim Cartwright’s The Rise and Fall of Little Voice, starring Francesca Mills and directed by Robert Hastie. The show will open in the Dorfman Theatre from 2 December 2026 to 23 January 2027 before touring.
Tickets for Electra/Persona, Catarina and the Beauty of Killing Fascists, Some Woman, Cloud 9 and The Rise and Fall of Little Voice will go on general sale at 12pm on Thursday 21 May 2026.
