Laura is a show about realisation and acceptance, regrets and disappointments, as well as misunderstandings and mistakes that people repeat over and over in their lifetime. The performance also tackles the themes of loneliness, the urge to be loved and understood and the need to finally make up to missed opportunities. All of the above in the surreal setting of a failed wedding party – a frenzied bride to be (or not to be?), 80s inspired soundtrack, a cake for the guests, antidepressants and a few champagne bottles.

Laura has a mental breakdown when her groom doesn’t arrive to the wedding because they had an argument the night before. Since this is not the first time Laura didn’t get married she looses herself completely and as a result overdoses on booze and antidepressants. The audience will experience Laura’s story from the hysteria and anger to the helplessness and failure and will take part in the events that will unravel on the night of the wedding. The audience will be the actual guests at the wedding with whom Laura will be sharing her story and some of the guests will also get to play specific roles within the show and get to perform the tasks.

Laura is going to reach out to people and beg for compassion and sympathy but instead will fail in her need to succeed. However, the journey that she will make will change her priorities and life entirely.

Laura is at The Bread & Roses Theatre (Clapham) on the 7th, ‪8th of December at 9:30 PM and ‪the 10th of December at 5 PM.
