New production images have been released for Mischief’s award-winning comedy The Comedy About Spies, which is currently playing at London’s Adelphi Theatre until 26 September 2026.
The acclaimed production, which won the WhatsOnStage Award for Best New Play and was nominated for an Olivier Award for Best New Entertainment or Comedy Play, returned to the West End following its sold out 21-week run in 2025.
The new production photographs were taken by Helen Maybanks and showcase the cast bringing Mischief’s espionage comedy to life at the Adelphi Theatre.
The cast includes Bryony Corrigan, David Hearn, Adele James, Chris Leask, Henry Lewis, Henry Shields, Greg Tannahill and Nancy Zamit, alongside Macadie Amoroso, Adam Byron, Matt Cavendish, Allie Dart, Niall Ransome and Ashley Tucker.
Written by original Mischief members Henry Lewis and Henry Shields, The Comedy About Spies is directed by Matt DiCarlo.
The creative team also includes set designer David Farley, costume designer Deborah Andrews, movement director Shelley Maxwell, lighting designer Johanna Town and sound designer and composer Jon Fiber for Jollygoodtunes.
Henry Lewis said: “We are so excited to bring The Comedy About Spies back to the West End. It’s a particular treat to be playing the magnificent Adelphi Theatre. It’s a venue synonymous with long running musicals and so we’re honored that The Comedy About Spies will be the first play presented there in over 14 years.”
Set in the world of international espionage, the comedy follows a rogue British agent who steals plans for a top-secret weapon, prompting CIA and KGB operatives to descend on London’s Piccadilly Hotel. Alongside them are a bewildered young couple, an aspiring James Bond actor and a growing network of double agents, creating a farcical mission packed with misunderstandings and chaos.
The production is also hosting a Gala Performance at 4pm on Sunday 9 August 2026.
