New production photography has been released for the fourteenth cast of Witness for the Prosecution by Agatha Christie, as they begin performances at London County Hall.
2025 marks 100 years since the original story, first published as Traitor Hands, appeared in a weekly detective magazine. A century later, the acclaimed stage production continues to thrill audiences in its eighth year.
Directed by Lucy Bailey and produced by Eleanor Lloyd Productions and Rebecca Stafford Productions, Witness for the Prosecution is now booking until 26 October 2026.
The new cast features Charlie Preston making his West End debut as Leonard Vole, alongside Lara Lemon as Romaine Vole. Roger May plays Sir Wilfrid Robarts QC, Graham Seed is Mr Mayhew, Christopher Saul joins as Mr Justice Wainwright, and Tom Godwin takes on the role of Mr Myers QC.
The company also includes Sahar Awad, William Bassoumba, Tuhin Chisti, Michael Fray, Caroline Guthrie, Sulin Hasso, Pena Iiyambo, Richard Keightley, Michael Otim-Okot, Sam Pay, Finn Torkington and Jolyon Young.
Agatha Christie adapted the story herself for the stage in 1953, and it premiered at The Winter Garden Theatre in London. During its run, Christie became the only female playwright to have three plays running simultaneously in the West End.
The 1957 film adaptation, directed by Billy Wilder and starring Tyrone Power, Marlene Dietrich and Charles Laughton, famously required audiences to pledge not to reveal the ending.
Since 2017, Witness for the Prosecution has captivated audiences with its immersive courtroom setting inside the historic London County Hall. Lucy Bailey’s direction places the audience in the heart of the action as the gripping tale of justice, passion and betrayal unfolds.
“Witness for the Prosecution gives audiences the unique and rare experience to step inside the London County Hall in the heart of the capital,” said producers Eleanor Lloyd and Rebecca Stafford.
The production is designed by William Dudley, with lighting by Chris Davey, sound design by Mic Pool and casting by Ellie Collyer-Bristow CDG.
