MISCHIEF has released brand new rehearsal images for Christmas Carol Goes Wrong, giving audiences an early view of the cast preparing to bring festive chaos to the West End and venues across the UK.
Written by Henry Lewis, Jonathan Sayer and Henry Shields, Christmas Carol Goes Wrong will run at Wyndham’s Theatre from 18 December 2026 to 23 January 2027, following a UK tour that opens at Churchill Theatre Bromley on 27 October.
The newly released rehearsal photographs feature the company as they prepare to revive the disastrous antics of The Cornley Amateur Drama Society, whose attempt to stage Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol is destined to go spectacularly wrong.
The cast includes James Akka as Dennis, Adam Elliott as Chris, original Mischief member Dave Hearn as Max until 23 January 2027, Matthew Howell as Robert, Luke Pierre as Jonathan, Aein Nasseri as Trevor, Dumile Sibanda as Annie and Ashley Tucker as Sandra.
Jay Olpin will take over the role of Max for the final six venues of the UK tour, while the understudy company includes Billie Hamer, Robert Lane, Claire Lee Shenfield, Jay Olpin, Josh Patel-Foster and Jamie Sandersfield.
Following its sell-out premiere at the Apollo Theatre last year, Christmas Carol Goes Wrong returns with more festive mayhem as Cornley battles missing actors, production delays, backstage feuds and mounting mishaps in their attempt to tell the classic story of Ebenezer Scrooge.
The production is directed by Matt DiCarlo, who recently directed Mischief’s hit comedy The Comedy About Spies. The creative team also includes set designer Libby Todd, costume designer Roberto Surace, lighting designer David Howe and sound designer and composer Alexandra Faye Braithwaite.
Produced by Kenny Wax and Stage Presence, the production will visit Bromley, Norwich, Wolverhampton, Manchester, Portsmouth, Leeds, York, Milton Keynes, Cardiff, Birmingham, Newcastle and Cambridge before and after its West End engagement.
