Nick Mohammed, known for Ted Lasso, Slow Horses and Show Pony, has been announced as The Host of The Traitors – Acts of Betrayal, the new stage production inspired by the hit television format The Traitors.
The production, from Studio Lambert and Neal Street Productions, will begin previews at the Gillian Lynne Theatre from 11 May 2027, with an official opening night on 8 June 2027.
To mark the announcement, Claudia Winkleman, host of both The Traitors and The Celebrity Traitors, has formally sworn Mohammed into the role in a newly released video filmed at Ardross Castle in the Scottish Highlands, the home of the BBC television series.
Written by John Finnemore and directed by Robert Hastie, The Traitors – Acts of Betrayal is a cycle of five new plays, each presenting a complete and distinct game of The Traitors in a single evening.
Every performance follows the familiar format of traitors being chosen, players banished and murdered, and a winner ultimately crowned. However, each version explores different outcomes depending on who is selected as a traitor, creating five unique stories across the week.
On Saturdays, audiences will determine which character becomes a traitor, with their decision deciding which of the five plays is performed.
Nick Mohammed said: “At first, I didn’t want to believe that a series of fictional plays based on The Traitors could ever contain as many brilliant twists and turns as the real thing – or be quite as compelling. But John Finnemore has crafted an absolute masterpiece: a cycle of five plays that are each as funny as they are moving, and of course, deeply, deeply unpredictable! And under the direction of the brilliant Robert Hastie, I couldn’t be more delighted to be joining such an original and wildly ambitious show.
“To take on Claudia’s role, as it were, is not just a privilege but a real challenge as an actor – I simply don’t have enough hair! But I will do my utmost not to disappoint.
“Either way, this time round, I promise not to let down the whole nation right at the very end. Now let the game begin…”

It needs charm, mischief, acting talent and complete control of the stage. Nick has all four, and the fact that he played the game and knows its intricacies, is a wonderful bonus.”
The creative team includes designer Ben Stones, lighting designer Mark Henderson, sound designer Alexandra Faye Braithwaite, choreographer Kate Prince, composer Martin Lowe and casting director Stuart Burt CDG CSA.
A world of paranoia, betrayal and shifting alliances, The Traitors – Acts of Betrayal promises a theatrical experience where no two outcomes are quite the same.
