Dundee Rep’s critically acclaimed production of No Love Songs is set to captivate London audiences when it arrives at Southwark Playhouse Elephant from Tuesday 4th to Saturday 15th June 2024.

This powerful gig theatre musical, co-written by Kyle Falconer (lead singer of Mercury Prize-nominated Scottish indie band The View) and his partner Laura Wilde, alongside Johnny McKnight, explores the emotional journey of new parenthood and tackles the subject of post-natal depression.

The show features hits from Kyle Falconer’s 2021 solo album No Love Songs For Laura, including “Stress Ball” and “Mother,” reimagined live on stage in this unique and urgent production. Joining the cast for the London run is Anna Russell Martin, who will take on the role of Lana. Trained at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, Martin has garnered critical acclaim for her performances across Scottish theatres, winning Best Female Performance at the 2020 Critics’ Awards for Theatre in Scotland for The Panopticon.

Reprising his role as Jessie is John McLarnon, known for his work in films like Local Hero and My Left Right Foot. McLarnon was part of the original cast when No Love Songs premiered at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe in 2023, earning rave reviews before a triumphant homecoming run at Dundee Rep.

Co-directed by Dundee Rep’s Artistic Director Andrew Panton and Associate Director Tashi Gore, No Love Songs follows the characters of Lana and Jessie as they navigate the unique challenges of their new lives as parents. The creative team also includes Musical Director and Arranger Gavin Whitworth, Lighting Designer Grant Anderson, Sound Designer Ritchie Young, Set Design Stylist Leila Kalbassi, and Costume Design Stylist Cate Mackie.
