Following four 2025 Tony Award® nominations, including Best Musical, and two 2024 Olivier Awards®, Operation Mincemeat has announced its 15th West End extension.

The critically acclaimed musical will now run at the Fortune Theatre until 28th February 2026.

The announcement coincides with the debut of a brand-new cast, including Alex Young (Stranger Things: The First Shadow), Danny Becker (Frozen), Peter McGovern (The History Boys), and Roshani Abbey (Hamilton), who join Chlöe Hart on stage.

Jason Kajdi (Matilda international tour) also joins the company alongside Geri Allen, George Jennings, and Maddie Jackson.

Operation Mincemeat is now playing simultaneously in London and New York, with the Broadway production recently announcing its third extension through 15th February 2026.

Originally premiering at the New Diorama Theatre in 2019, Operation Mincemeat quickly built a cult following, leading to sold-out runs at Southwark Playhouse and Riverside Studios before opening in the West End on 9th May 2023.

The show has since won Olivier and WhatsOnStage Awards® for Best New Musical and has become the “Best reviewed show in West End history.”

The musical was created by SpitLip—David Cumming, Felix Hagan, Natasha Hodgson, and Zoë Roberts—who began their careers performing sketch comedy at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe.

Set in 1943, Operation Mincemeat tells the unbelievable true story of a secret mission that helped win World War II. The show has been described as “Singin’ in the Rain meets Strangers on a Train, Noel Coward meets Noel Fielding.”

The production is directed by Olivier Award nominee Robert Hastie, with choreography by Jenny Arnold. The creative team also includes Ben Stones (Set and Costume Design), Mark Henderson (Lighting Design), Mike Walker (Sound Design), Steve Sidwell (Orchestrator and Vocal Arranger), and Joe Bunker (Musical Director).

Casting is by Pearson Casting, with Georgie Staight as Associate Director and Paul Isaiah Isles as Associate Choreographer.

Operation Mincemeat has won 13 awards from 64 nominations, including Best Musical at the Olivier Awards®, WhatsOnStage Awards, and Off-West End Awards.

On Broadway, the show is nominated for four 2025 Tony Awards®, including Best Musical and Best Featured Actor in a Musical for Malone, who also won the Olivier Award in the same category.

SpitLip are also nominated for Best Book and Best Score at the Tony Awards®, Outer Critics Circle Awards, and BroadwayWorld Awards.

West End Extension tickets are available on General sale on Friday 30th May at 10am from the Official Box Office here and tickets via the ballot are available on Thursday 29th May at 2pm. Broadway tickets and more info here
