Park Theatre has announced its 2027 Park200 season, bringing together major revivals, world premieres, award-winning new writing and a significant new partnership with OperaUpClose.
The season is headlined by the first London revival in 14 years of Jez Butterworth’s Olivier Award-winning debut play Mojo, alongside a slate of new productions that includes The Captain, The Wedding(s), The Quiet Revolution of Laurent Clerc, Spitfire Girls and the world premiere of the 2026 Papatango New Writing Prize winner.
Opening the season from 12 to 23 January 2027 is The Captain, Adam Riches’ Fringe First Award-winning play about pioneering Channel swimmer Captain Matthew Webb. Riches both writes and performs in the production, with Tom Parry directing.
Running alongside it for six performances only is the return of Riches’ acclaimed one-man show Jimmy, which heads back to Park Theatre following a sold-out run in 2026.
From 27 January to 27 February 2027, Park Theatre will present the London premiere of Katherine Senior’s Spitfire Girls. Directed by Seán Aydon, the production is inspired by the real-life women of the Air Transport Auxiliary and stars Hannah Morrison, Katherine Senior, Kirsty Cox, Paul Brown and Daniel Copeland.
A major highlight of the season is the revival of Mojo, which runs from 4 March to 10 April 2027. First staged at the Royal Court in 1995, Butterworth’s darkly comic drama about Soho’s criminal underworld returns to London in a new production directed by Max Harrison and designed by Kit Hinchcliffe.
Park Theatre will also expand into opera through a major residency by OperaUpClose. The company brings its acclaimed reimagining of Puccini’s Gianni Schicchi (or Where There’s A Will) to Park200 from 14 April to 8 May 2027. Rewritten by Hannah Kumari and re-orchestrated by Vahan Salorian, the production transforms the classic opera into a contemporary comic murder mystery.
Multi award-winning comedy duo Max & Ivan will make their theatrical debut with the world premiere of The Wedding(s) from 27 May to 3 July 2027. The farce follows two weddings accidentally booked into the same venue at the same time, placing a pair of struggling brothers at the centre of escalating chaos.
Continuing Park Theatre’s commitment to Deaf-led and accessible work, The Quiet Revolution of Laurent Clerc will receive its world premiere from 9 July to 7 August 2027. Written by Carol Schneider and directed by Joe Cacaci, the production tells the story of Deaf pioneer Laurent Clerc and explores the origins of sign language through movement, mime, spoken language and creative captions.
The season concludes with Park Theatre and Papatango reuniting for the world premiere of the 2026 Papatango New Writing Prize winner. Running from 28 October to 27 November 2027, the production follows the success of The Meat Kings! (Inc.) of Brooklyn Heights, which went on to win the 2026 Susan Smith Blackburn Award.
Artistic Director Jez Bond said, “We’re delighted to be bringing such a varied programme to Park200 in 2027, from a major revival of Jez Butterworth’s Mojo to Max & Ivan making their theatrical debut with The Wedding(s), alongside our continuing partnership with Papatango and a wealth of new work across the season.
“What excites me most is the breadth of storytelling and the range of artists we’re welcoming to Park Theatre — established names alongside new voices, familiar titles alongside stories audiences may be discovering for the first time. I’m really looking forward to sharing the season with our audiences.”
