Bombay Superstar

Award-winning Phizzical Productions have partnered with SONY TV UK to reach out into communities UK wide and unearth the next biggest Bollywood star who will take to the stage in Bombay Superstar.

SONY TV has discovered many talented voices in India with shows like Indian Idol; now it’s your chance to be discovered.

Phizzical and SONY TV are looking for singers who can sing in Hindi, and are interested in acting in a musical theatre to star in the spectacular stage show Bombay Superstar, a new Bollywood musical set in the sizzling disco era of the 1970s. Auditions are in London on 11th July, Leicester on 17th July and Coventry on 18th July. Full information on how to apply can be found on www.phizzical.com. It couldn’t be simpler: email over a video clip and then the Phizzical and Sony teams will pull together an amazing audition shortlist.

Bombay Superstar – a co-production with Phizzical Productions, Belgrade Theatre Coventry and the New Wolsey Theatre – is a glamourous and scandalous story in the heart of the biggest film industry in the world, Bollywood. Blurring the lines between reel and real-life events, this catchy retro musical is a passionate tale of a star-crossed romance between a fiery rising star and her married co-star which thrills and scandalises their star-struck fans. Bombay Superstar is delivered in English and sung in Hindi with subtitles throughout the show to allow accessibility for audiences throughout the country.

Bombay Superstar is written and directed by the master of authentic Bollywood-inspired work Sâmir Bhamra (Bring on the Bollywood; Precious Bazaar), who is also the Artistic Director of Phizzical Productions. Phizzical Productions was founded in 2003 and has delighted, inspired, and nurtured people of all ages and backgrounds.
