Arr we There Yet at Underbelly Festival

Arr we There Yet at Underbelly Festival

Nominated for Best Children’s Show at the Perth Fringe, Brighton Fringe and Adelaide Fringe, Arr We There Yet? returns to the UK this summer. Head First Acrobats apply their signature mix of comedy caper and incredible acrobatic talent to create a ship-shape show for parents and children alike.

Off in search of treasure, three hapless pirates fight for the title of ship’s captain as they sail across the high seas under the banner of the Jolly Roger. A scallywag pirate, a swashbuckling sailor and a chef with a seafood allergy make for a hopeless crew caught in shark-infested waters.

Arr We There Yet? is a boisterous comedy which transforms the most mundane tasks such as cooking dinner and swabbing the deck into far more rowdy activities as the acrobats begin juggling knives and cartwheeling. Steering the ship using a Cyr wheel, they reel and whirl around the stage – even walking the plank becomes a sight to behold as they spring from the high flying teeterboard.

Co-creator Thomas Gorman comments, “A wonderful story for kids, Arr We There Yet? is about pirates who fight and boss each other around and get nowhere. When they find what they are looking for, they discover that the most important thing wasn’t their pirate ship but their friendship. The message is something that everyone can do with remembering, so to make a real impression we tell it through incredible circus routines and riotous comedy.”

Arr We There Yet? Is at Underbelly Festival 10th June – 1st July 2018.
