Candy Kings Head Theatre

Candy

Candy by Tim Fraser, directed by Nico Pimparé and performed by Michael Waller, will play at the King’s Head Theatre on 19th and 20th January 2020.

Candy is a new, 50 minute comedy about masculinity, identity, love and isolation. It started life as a 15 minute short play and was selected for Reboot: Shorts 2 (Bunker Theatre, 2018) from over 1000 entries. The audiences raved about it, which were supported by some great first-night reviews. Over the past year Reboot have worked closely with Tim Fraser to develop his short play into a full-length solo performance.

Do you believe in love at first sight?

Will is struggling with a secret. He’s fallen hopelessly in love with the seductive, unattainable Candy — she’s an epiphany, a revelation, and just happens to be his best friend Billy dressed in drag. With his life crumbling at the fringes, Will struggles to make sense of his newfound feelings. Can he ever be with her? And what does loving her really mean…
