Mostly Musicals Ltd presents the reimagined musical Renew Ya Hallelujah by Teddy Hayes from Monday 29 October to Saturday 3 November, 7.30pm at Theatro Technis Theatre in Camden, London.

First staged in London at Theatre Royal Stratford East in 1997, Renew Ya Hallelujah is a rapturous gospel musical featuring MOBO Award winners Volney Morgan and New Ye Choir. This uplifting, foot tapping, family drama has been updated with new music and choreography.

Renew Ya Hallelujah tells the story of an American minister, Mother Lula Washington and her three sons with very different personalities – Skeet, Clayton and Raymond. The action unfolds when Valentine, a female junior minister in training, comes to stay and the family is turned upside down. Through dance, drama and humour, audiences will see family dynamics exposed; with greed, rivalry and misguided pride laid bare.

The production was written and composed by American born Teddy Hayes. He has worked with Quincy Jones, Roberta Flack and Melvin Van Peebles. Since living in the UK Teddy has written and produced Papa’s Bathtub Gin, Rosemary Branch Theatre; Hartwell Gothic, Tabard Theatre; The Baskerville Beast, The Rose Theatre, Bankside; Obama On My Mind, Hen and Chickens Theatre; Deep In The Forest, Lyric Theatre Hammersmith and a UK tour of I Remember Marvin. He has also published 10 novels. And written and produced five films
