Curve Theatre in Leicester has announced the full company for its highly anticipated Made at Curve Christmas production of The Sound of Music, running from 22 November 2025 to 17 January 2026.

Returning to the Curve stage are Molly Lynch and David Seadon-Young, who will reprise their acclaimed partnership from My Fair Lady as Maria and Captain Georg von Trapp.

Joining them is two-time Olivier Award-winner Joanna Riding as Mother Abbess. Riding’s extensive credits include Carousel at the National Theatre, My Fair Lady at Drury Lane, and Stephen Sondheim’s Old Friends in the West End and on Broadway.

Aviva Tulley will play Liesl, following her recent performance as Dorothy in The Wizard of Oz. Faye Brookes, known for Coronation Street and numerous stage roles, will appear as Baroness Elsa Schraeder.

The cast also includes Megan Ellis as Sister Sophie, Rachel Izen as Frau Schmidt, Minal Patel as Max Detweiler, and Mark Peachey as Franz. Keanna Bloomfield, Harrison Burley, Will Luckett, and Louie Wood also join the ensemble.

Jamie Chatterton, Adam Colbeck-Dunn, Christian Cooper, and Leonie Spilsbury round out the adult cast, alongside ensemble members Regan-Bailey Walker, Ollie Butt, Remi Ferdinand, Simone Dean, and Becky Anderson.

A group of 18 local young performers will portray the von Trapp children, selected through an open call. They will be joined by a Community Company of 20 local participants, bringing the total cast to 60.

Directed by Curve’s Artistic Director Nikolai Foster, the creative team includes choreographer Ebony Molina, musical supervisor George Dyer, designer Michael Taylor, lighting designer Mark Henderson, and sound designer Nick Lodge.

Foster said: “We are thrilled to welcome this extraordinary company of actors, creatives and local talent to bring The Sound of Music to life. This production is a celebration of community, resilience and the power of music.”

The production will feature a full orchestra sponsored by PPL and a range of accessible performances, including BSL, captioned, dementia-friendly, audio described, and relaxed shows.

A special prize draw is also open until 4 August, offering fans the chance to win exclusive experiences including a backstage tour and meet-and-greet with the cast. More details can be found here.
