The Thing That Came To Dinner is a play about the monsters you find around your own dinner table. And from space. It’s a genre mash-up of 80s cult horror and comedy of manners farce.
Having retreated to a rural manor house for a weekend in the country, the guests expect no more than sophisticated repartee – but they very soon find themselves snowed in, trapped, with a shape-shifting monster hiding somewhere in their midst.
The high-society revellers must attempt to root out the blood-thirsty creature from another world at the same time as retaining their dignity and poise.
The play brings together dialogue-centered theatre with physical performance from puppetry to dance to clown – as well as striking visual effects, original music and sound design.
The Thing That Came To Dinner is at VAULT Festival 7th, 8th & 9th February 2018 at 6.15pm (1hr).
