Pride, a new musical adaptation of the celebrated Pathé film, has announced full casting ahead of its world premiere at the National Theatre. The production reunites director Matthew Warchus and writer Stephen Beresford, whose original screenplay inspired the show.

The musical will run at the National Theatre’s Dorfman stage from 11 June to 12 September 2026, following a preview season at Sherman Theatre, Cardiff from 31 March to 18 April 2026.

Casting includes Samuel Barnett as Jonathan, Lewis Cornay as Bromley, Matthew Durkan as Mike, Gillian Elisa as Gwen and Robin Hayward as Martin. They are joined by Chris Jenkins, Darren Lawrence, Jhon Lumsden, Kirsty Malpass, Sarah Pugh, Jordan Shaw, Courtney Stapleton, Caroline Sheen, Mared Williams and Matthew Woodyatt. The ensemble features Daniel Forrester, Madeleine Morgan, Catherine Morris and Graham Vick.

Speaking about the cast, Matthew Warchus said:
‘I’m very much looking forward to be working with such an outstanding group of performers to bring this remarkable and joy-filled true story to the stage.’

The musical features original music by Christopher Nightingale, Josh Cohen and DJ Walde, drawing inspiration from protest anthems, pop, rock, disco and Welsh choral tradition.
