A record number of entries have now been received for the 15th Kenneth Branagh Drama Writing Awards- part of the Windsor Fringe which is now in it’s 47th year.
A total of 301 scripts have been received from 24 countries.
The Kenneth Branagh Drama Writing Awards ask for scripts, written by aspiring amateur playwrights and are for a 30 minute play which could be produced in a studio theatre environment.
The Windsor Fringe are now processing these scripts with a panel of readers assessing them anonymously.
Over the next few months these 301 scripts will be reduced to a long list of 9 – which will be evaluated by two specialist judges. The judges will select a final short list of 3 scripts based on the overall impact of the writing- these will go forward and culminate in a staged production as part of the finale of the Windsor Fringe in early October. The winner will then receive £500 and the accolade as the winner of this prestigious award.
The Windsor Fringe are always keen to hear from Producers and Actors that would be interested in participating in these productions in October.
The Kenneth Branagh New Drama Writing Awards are a key focal point of the Windsor Fringe, the UK’s second longest running Fringe, which runs every year at the end of September, with a broad range of activities across the Arts.
