The multi award-winning Remember That Time? A Musical will make its London premiere this July as part of the London Queer Fringe Festival.

Written and performed by Annmarie Cullen, the one-woman, mixed-media production runs from 16 to 18 July at The Queer Comedy Club, with press invited to attend any performance.

The uplifting show explores themes of loss, change and resilience, drawing on Cullen’s own journey from a successful songwriting career in Los Angeles to rebuilding her life back in Dublin.

After two decades writing for Disney and Warner Chappell, with more than 60 placements across TV and film, Cullen returned to Europe to create her first original musical, blending narration, original songs and on-screen video.

The story follows a 40-something musician who leaves LA for love in Barcelona, giving up her creative career for stability before losing both her identity and her marriage.

Returning to Dublin after 25 years away, she begins again from scratch, supported by two friends appearing on screen via Zoom, portrayed by comedian Gearoid Farrelly and musician Naimee Coleman.

The production features music co-written with collaborators including Mundy, Lucy Schwartz and Emmy-nominated songwriter Jeannie Lurie.

Directed by Aishlinn Mcilhone, the show has already received significant acclaim, including Best Performance at the 2024 Dublin Gay Theatre Festival and an Edinburgh Fringe Theatre Award following a successful run last summer.

Remember That Time? A Musical offers a heartfelt and relatable story of rediscovery, creativity and finding the courage to begin again.
