Secret Cinema has announced that Ricky Wilson, lead singer of the Kaiser Chiefs, will take on the role of Teen Angel in Grease: The Immersive Movie Musical for selected performances.

Wilson joins returning cast members Stephanie Costi as Sandy and Lucy Penrose as Rizzo, alongside Giórgios Michaelídes as Danny and Arcangelo Ciulla as Kenickie, with further casting to be revealed.

Ricky Wilson said today, “At school I was in Grease and I feel I have to redeem myself. I was not yet the international pop sensation I am today and I only really wanted to do it cos I fancied the girl who played Frenchie (I was Doody) so this is my chance to show everyone I should have got a bigger part. I don’t believe anyone from that production is now a professional singer, so in short, I win.”

The immersive production returns following a sold-out 2025 run, opening at Evolution London in Battersea Park from 22 July to 13 September for a strictly limited engagement.

Each performance of Grease: The Immersive Movie Musical runs for two hours and fifteen minutes, bringing the beloved 1978 film to life with a live band, dynamic staging and multiple screens.

Audiences are invited to step inside the world of Rydell High, exploring locations such as Frosty Palace, the Autoshop and the Carnival, while interacting with characters and taking part in themed experiences.

The production features iconic songs including ‘Summer Nights’, ‘Greased Lightnin’’ and ‘We Go Together’, alongside ‘Beauty School Dropout’, performed by Wilson as Teen Angel.

This innovative staging is created by a multi-award-winning team including director Matt Costain, choreographer Jennifer Weber, set designer Tom Rogers, lighting designer Howard Hudson, sound designer Gareth Fry and video designer Ian William Galloway.

Due to demand, the 2026 run will expand its Roam and Return seating options, allowing audiences to explore the immersive environment before returning to dedicated seating areas.

Grease: The Immersive Movie Musical is presented by Secret Cinema and TodayTix, continuing its tradition of blending cinema and live theatre into a large-scale interactive experience.
