Award-winning British comedian Rosie Jones will be the special guest for an upcoming live recording of The Show People Podcast at The Two Brewers in Clapham.
Taking place on Wednesday 10 June, the event will see Jones join Queer Theatre’s Artistic Director Andrew Keates for an in-depth conversation about her career and creative journey.
Jones, known for her razor-sharp wit and fearless honesty, has become one of the UK’s most recognisable comedians through appearances on shows including The Last Leg, 8 Out of 10 Cats and QI.
Alongside her stand-up success, she has fronted her own Comedy Central series Out of Order and starred in Channel 4 programmes Am I A R*tard and Pushers.
Her acting credits span primetime dramas such as Silent Witness, Casualty and Call the Midwife, while her writing work includes contributions to Netflix’s Sex Education.
During the live podcast recording, Jones will reflect on her experiences in comedy and the arts, including how living with cerebral palsy has shaped both her personal life and professional voice.
Andrew Keates said: “Few have done more giving voice and visibility of those with specific needs and disabilities in this country than my friend Rosie Jones. She remains a pioneer of so many marginalised communities, telling her stories both with honesty and, of course, her sublime sense of humour. She rightly plays enormous venues all over the country, and for one special night, I can’t wait for a lucky audience to get up close and personal and discover the many lessons she’s learned as a comedienne, actor, and activist”
Held monthly at The Two Brewers, The Show People Podcast brings leading figures from across the performing arts to a live audience setting, with past guests including Kerry Ellis, Jack Holden, Marina Sirtis, Sir Stephen Fry and Sir Ian McKellen.
The evening will include an interval and access to the venue’s cabaret and DJ event afterwards, with all profits supporting Queer Theatre’s programmes for LGBTQIA+ artists and communities.
