The Chichester Festival Theatre and Stage Entertainment production of Singin’ in the Rain will play a Christmas season at Sheffield Theatres’ Crucible from 26 November 2026 to 16 January 2027.

Presented by Sheffield Theatres in association with Jonathan Church Theatre Productions, the much-loved musical returns to the venue where director Jonathan Church began his career.

Based on the classic Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer film, the production brings the glamour of 1920s Hollywood to the stage with high-energy choreography, lavish designs and more than 14,000 litres of water used on stage.

The story follows silent film stars Don Lockwood and Lina Lamont as the arrival of talking pictures throws their careers into chaos, forcing them to adapt with the help of an aspiring young actress.

Featuring the iconic score by Nacio Herb Brown and Arthur Freed, the show includes classics such as “Good Morning”, “Make ‘em Laugh” and the title song “Singin’ in the Rain”.

Following its Sheffield run, the production will embark on a major UK tour, visiting venues in Southend, Belfast, Dublin, Sunderland, Canterbury, Liverpool, Glasgow, Edinburgh, Birmingham and beyond through to September 2027.
