A host of stars from across theatre, television, film and music have been announced for Raise the Roof!, a special fundraising gala taking place at London’s Victoria Palace Theatre on 1 November 2026.
Hosted by Bradley Walsh, the one-night event will celebrate the shared centenary year of Denville Hall and Elstree Studios while raising vital funds for Denville Hall’s Centenary Appeal.
The line-up announced so far includes Stefan Bednarczyk, David Benson, Michelle Collins, Bobby Crush, Matt Henry, Jack Lane, Robert Lindsay, Sir Ian McKellen, Jeremy Secomb, Harriet Thorpe and Emma Williams, with further special guests still to be revealed. All artists appear subject to availability.
The production will be directed by Ian Talbot, with Stephen Ridley serving as Musical Director.
The evening promises a celebration of the people and stories that have shaped British entertainment, bringing together performers and industry figures from across stage and screen for a night of music, laughter and memories.
Joanne Benjamin, Chair of Trustees at Denville Hall, said: “We are delighted to be partnering with Elstree studios on this wonderful event which will celebrate the 100 year history of both organisations. We look forward to an evening of fun in which the whole industry comes together to recognise those who have given so much to entertainment over the last 100 years.”
Rebecca Hawkes, CEO of Elstree Studios, said: “There is a wonderful sense of joy in bringing these two centenaries together. Elstree has spent a century creating entertainment that brings people together, while Denville has spent a century caring for the people who make that entertainment possible. Celebrating side by side — and raising money for Denville — is a fitting way to mark such an important milestone.”
The gala will be held at the historic Victoria Palace Theatre, described by Historic England as “London’s last great variety house”. The venue has welcomed generations of performers since opening in 1911 and provides a fitting setting for a celebration of two institutions that have played significant roles in Britain’s entertainment industry.
Founded in 1926, Denville Hall supports people from across the entertainment professions, providing residential care, including specialised dementia care, in a community designed to celebrate lives spent in the performing arts. Elstree Studios is also marking its centenary this year, having spent 100 years at the heart of British film and television production.
Funds raised through Raise the Roof! will support Denville Hall’s £26 million Centenary Appeal, which aims to transform the site with new assisted living accommodation, improved facilities and the creation of Alfred’s Fund, an endowment designed to help support the charity for the next century.
