The State Ballet of Georgia will return to the London Coliseum this summer with a brand new production of Swan Lake.
The limited season runs from 17 to 26 July and follows the company’s acclaimed 2024 visit.
All performances will feature live accompaniment from the Royal Ballet Sinfonia.
Nina Ananiashvili, Director of the State Ballet of Georgia, said: ‘I am thrilled to bring our brand new production of Swan Lake to London following our hugely successful season two years ago. After serving the company since 2004 and touring worldwide, I felt it was time to reinvigorate our production. I have commissioned the famous Georgian artist David Monavardisashvili to design the set, painted by hand in the traditional manner. Also new costumes are by Kirill Gaisin, who has a deep understanding of both ballet and the history of the period. I will rejuvenate the choreography to infuse fresh vitality into this enduring classic. We are all very excited to return to London for our summer season.’
The production promises an opulent staging of Tchaikovsky’s iconic score, bringing audiences into the world of Odette, Prince Siegfried and the sorcerer Rothbart.
The company, celebrated for its technical precision and expressive range, will also welcome guest principal dancers at selected performances.
Founded in Tbilisi and guided by Ananiashvili’s artistic leadership for over two decades, the State Ballet of Georgia has been recognised for its international touring and rich classical repertoire.
Swan Lake opens at the London Coliseum on 17 July, with press night on the same evening.
