Florian Zeller’s acclaimed comedy The Truth will return to the West End next summer, with Stephen Mangan, Ardal O’Hanlon, Sarah Hadland and Janie Dee reprising their roles following the production’s recent sold-out run at the Apollo Theatre.

Produced by Melting Pot, the Olivier-nominated comedy will begin a strictly limited 12-week engagement at Theatre Royal Haymarket from 29 July 2027 before touring the UK later that autumn.

Directed by Lindsay Posner and translated by Christopher Hampton, The Truth is a sharp and witty comedy exploring love, deception and self-delusion. The play centres on Michel, a man engaged in an affair with his best friend’s wife while convincing himself that honesty is vastly overrated.

As Michel’s web of lies becomes increasingly tangled, the story keeps audiences guessing about who is telling the truth and who is deceiving whom.

The returning cast features Stephen Mangan as Michel, Ardal O’Hanlon as Paul, Sarah Hadland as Alice and Janie Dee as Laurence.

Posner directs a creative team that includes set and costume designer Lizzie Clachan, lighting designer Richard Howell and sound designer Adam Cork.

The production follows a successful recent West End run and will continue with tour dates in Brighton, Salford, Birmingham and Glasgow after its Haymarket engagement.

Producer Simon Friend said: “The Truth was a sell-out sensation over its run at the Apollo Theatre, which finished a few weeks ago, and our magnificent cast had such fun with Florian’s comic masterpiece that they’re reuniting to bring more gales of laughter to the West End. We’re enormously grateful to Len Blavatnik and Danny Cohen for welcoming the show into the Theatre Royal Haymarket for another season next year before heading out across the country.”

Zeller is internationally renowned for works including The Father and The Son, and The Truth showcases the playwright’s trademark blend of psychological insight and comedy.

Tickets for the Theatre Royal Haymarket run are on sale now.
