Storyhouse has revealed the full cast for its 2026 Christmas pantomime, Rapunzel, with Charlie Mae McKevitt taking on the title role in the festive family adventure.
The Storyhouse Originals production will run from 4 December 2026 to 3 January 2027, promising audiences a mix of comedy, music, dance and magic across the holiday season.
High in her tower, Rapunzel dreams of a life beyond the walls that surround her. When a charming visitor arrives, she is swept into a hilarious adventure and discovers she has more power than she ever imagined.
The classic fairy tale has been given a fresh Storyhouse twist, with the production featuring dazzling choreography, magical mischief and a soundtrack packed with well-known hits.
Charlie Mae McKevitt, whose previous credits include The MGM Story, Cinderella and Red or Dead, will star as Rapunzel.
Joining her in the cast are Alicia Aquino, Savannah Beckford, James Colebrook, Jessica Dennis, Tasha Dowd, John Holt Roberts, Andy Owens and Eleni Papaioannou.
The production is written by Anne Odeke and directed by Gemma Fairlie, with set design by Carla Goodman, lighting design by Charly Dunford, music and sound design by Ernie Acquah, movement direction and choreography by Sundeep Saini, and aerial direction by Vicki Amedume.
Storyhouse creative director Suzie Henderson said: “Christmas is a time of magic and wonder for children, for whom pantomime is often their first – exhilarating – experience of live performance.
“So I’m delighted that, following the success of last year’s Beauty and the Beast, we have another absolute treat waiting in the wings for our family audiences this season.
“Anne Odeke’s bold and exciting adaptation of Rapunzel is packed with delights, and now we can also reveal the multi-talented cast who are ready to let their hair down in the rehearsal room and create something magical and memorable for Chester theatregoers of all ages this season.”
Tickets are on sale now, with prices starting from £17.70 for Storyhouse members.
