Stratford East has announced that Rifco Theatre Company’s British South Asian family pantomime Surinderella will run at the East London venue this autumn.
An Indian retelling of the classic Cinderella story, Surinderella will play from 20 October to 31 October 2026, with tickets priced from £10.
Written by Pravesh Kumar MBE with music and lyrics by PBN, the production is directed by Ameet Chana and presented by Rifco Theatre Company in association with Belgrade Theatre Coventry.
The show is set in Bolly Woods and follows Surinder, who is stuck doing chores for her selfie-obsessed stepsisters while dreaming of something more.
The story also introduces Prince Kavi, under pressure to marry, and a glamorous Devi Godmother who brings magic, makeovers and a Bollywood ball to change Surinder’s fate.
Surinderella follows Stratford East’s South Asian Summer season and continues the venue’s commitment to celebrating British South Asian stories on stage.
