Summerhall Arts has announced a further 36 shows for its 2026 Edinburgh Festival Fringe programme, reinforcing its reputation as a home for adventurous and boundary-pushing performance.
The newly revealed programme sees more than 55% international artists, with 60% of shows female-led, 24% led by artists of colour, and 30% featuring LGBTQI+ narratives.
Summerhall Arts is delighted to announce that triple Fringe First winners Xhloe and Natasha will premiere a brand new show at the venue this festival. Co-presented with Soho Theatre and SoHo Playhouse, Bigfoot Ripped My Dog In Half I Saw It combines precise choreography, absurdist clowning and a nine-foot puppet in an exploration of conspiracy and misdirection.
Comedy Award winner and Fringe favourite Adam Riches returns to Summerhall with a brand new solo theatre show. Following the success of Jimmy in 2024, Riches presents The Captain, telling the true story of Captain Matthew Webb, the first man to swim the English Channel.
Summerhall Arts has also announced the recipients of its three major festival awards. The Mary Dick Award, in collaboration with Birds of Paradise Theatre Company, goes to Patch of Blue and 3hc, who will premiere You and Me (and Whoever Comes Next), a joyful and moving exploration of care.
The Autopsy Award goes to Glasgow-based performance artist Althea Young, who premieres The Dreaming, blending autobiography and fantasy to explore parental ambivalence through performance art, theatre and choreography.
The Meadows Award is presented to Palestinian multidisciplinary performance artist Fadi Murad for Come Back Home, a contemporary theatre work exploring grief, dispossession and memory through absurdity.
Edinburgh Comedy Award nominees The Creepy Boys return with their acclaimed five-star show SLUGS, alongside a new work-in-progress, Nude Parade. Other returning favourites include Adam Lenson with Is it too late now to say sorry?, Buzzcut Productions with The Wreck, and Scott Turnbull with Surreally Good.
The programme also features a wide range of new work and UK premieres from artists and companies including Magnetic North, Sadiq Ali Company, 81 Productions, Ballaro Dance, Ballet National Folklorique du Luxembourg, Salty Brine, OPE-N and Lightning Rod Special.
Summerhall Arts Fringe Producer and Programmer Tom Forster said: “With the Fringe landscape ever changing, Summerhall Arts believes we should challenge ourselves as a venue to innovate year-on-year to the same frequency that we demand of artists.”
These newly announced shows join seven productions that went on sale earlier in the year, ahead of the Edinburgh Festival Fringe 2026 running from 6 to 31 August.
