Sonia Friedman Productions and ATG Productions have announced the principal cast for the highly anticipated 2025/2026 UK tour of the Olivier Award-winning musical Sunny Afternoon.
The tour opens at the Manchester Palace Theatre on 11 October 2025.
Danny Horn will reprise his role as ‘Ray Davies’, joined by Oliver Hoare as ‘Dave Davies’, Harry Curley as ‘Peter Quaife’, and Zakarie Stokes as ‘Mick Avory’. These four actors will bring to life the iconic band at the heart of Sunny Afternoon.

Danny Horn returns to the role of Ray Davies after a successful West End run and a recent appearance in the North American premiere at Chicago Shakespeare Theatre. His extensive theatre credits include The Bah Humbug Club, We’ll Dance On The Ash Of The Apocalypse, and The Revenger’s Tragedy.
Oliver Hoare also returns as Dave Davies, having previously played the role in the West End and in Chicago. His stage work includes Anthony and Cleopatra, The Lion The Witch and The Wardrobe, and The Beggar’s Opera. He is also a musician, performing with his band Oliver Hoare & The Late Great.
Harry Curley, currently appearing in Sing Street at the Lyric Hammersmith, joins the cast as Peter Quaife. His previous credits include Cinderella, Oh! What a Lovely War, and Once.
Zakarie Stokes makes his professional debut as Mick Avory. A recent graduate of Guildford School of Acting, his training credits include Our Town, Alice by Heart, and The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time.
Sunny Afternoon tells the story of The Kinks, charting their rise to fame through hits like “You Really Got Me,” “Lola,” and “All Day and All of the Night.” The musical won four Olivier Awards, including Best New Musical and Outstanding Achievement in Music for Ray Davies.
Set in the rebellious 1960s, Sunny Afternoon is a vibrant celebration of the music and legacy of one of Britain’s most influential bands.
The production features music and lyrics by Ray Davies, a book by Joe Penhall, and direction by Edward Hall. The creative team also includes Miriam Buether (design), Adam Cooper (choreography), Rick Fisher (lighting), and Matt McKenzie (sound).
