The Roald Dahl Story Company has revealed the full cast for The Enormous Crocodile the Musical, which will play a festive season at Lowry, Salford from 10 December 2025 to 4 January 2026, ahead of a UK tour beginning in spring 2026.

Chelsea Da Silva will take on the role of The Enormous Crocodile, joined by Precious Abimbola as Trunky the Elephant, Jordan Eskeisa as Humpy Rumpy the Hippopotamus, Ciara Hudson as Roly Poly Bird, Marienella Phillips as Muggle Wump the Monkey, and René Francalanza as Swing.

Following its Salford run, the production opens at Theatre Royal Brighton on 27 March 2026 and will visit 15 venues across the UK, including a newly announced four-week engagement at Lyric Hammersmith.

The musical has previously enjoyed acclaimed runs at Leeds Playhouse in 2023 and Regent’s Park Open Air Theatre in 2024, with critics praising its inventive charm and appeal to young audiences.

Broadway World awarded it ★★★★★, calling it “a joyful piece of family theatre which fizzes with invention and charm.”

Theatre and Tonic also gave it ★★★★★, describing it as “a perfect introduction to theatre for any child.”

In the US, The Enormous Crocodile is currently playing at Children’s Theatre Company in Minneapolis and will tour to Los Angeles and Chicago in early 2026.

The story follows a greedy crocodile with a taste for children, weaving through the jungle with “secret plans and clever tricks.” Only the courage of the other jungle animals can stop him.

With music by Ahmed Abdullahi Gallab, lyrics by Suhayla El-Bushra, and additional music and lyrics by Tom Brady, the production is directed by Emily Lim and features puppetry by Toby Olié.

The creative team also includes Fly Davis (set and costume design), Daisy Beattie (puppetry co-design), Annelie Powell CDG (casting), Vicki Igbokwe-Ozoagu (choreography), Jessica Hung Han Yun (lighting), and Tom Gibbons (sound). Associate direction is by Tash Holway and Blythe Stewart, with puppetry direction by Michael Jean-Marain.

Originally co-produced by Roald Dahl Story Company, Regent’s Park Open Air Theatre and Leeds Playhouse, The Enormous Crocodile the Musical was developed by Emily Lim, Ahmed Abdullahi Gallab, Suhayla El-Bushra and Tom Brady.
