The Lawrence Batley Theatre, Huddersfield has launched a programme of free digital activities aimed at promoting positivity which will run from 4 – 31 January 2021

To encourage positivity and keep its community inspired, the Lawrence Batley Theatre has announced it has commissioned four weeks of digital content that will be released Monday – Friday throughout January.

Published on the theatre’s website, across its social media platforms and mailing lists, the free content has been broken into five different daily themes: Movement Mondays, Sing-a-long Tuesdays, Wellbeing Wednesdays, Theatre Thursdays and Foodie Fridays.

Those wishing to take part can expect weekly movement for the mind sessions led by Kevin Edward Turner, co-artistic director of Company Chameleon, five minutes of original satirical songs every Tuesday by singer Richard Sykes, short meditation sessions led by mindfulness and movement practitioner Lizzie Wiggs, a series of inspiring monologues directed by Joyce Branagh and healthy and wholesome recipes curated by Asma Khan (Chef’s Table).

Henry Filloux-Bennett, Chief Executive & Artistic Director of the Lawrence Batley Theatre comments, “This project will not only kick the new year off to a positive start but has also offered paid work to over 10 freelancers. We are so looking forward to sharing each creative activity throughout January and hope to see people far and wide be inspired and get involved.”
