Following its successful UK and Ireland tour in 2022, The Osmonds: A New Musical will be made available for professional and amateur licensing from April 2027.
The Licensing Company has announced that stage rights for the musical will be available across the UK, US and Canada, allowing new productions of the show to be staged from spring 2027.
The Osmonds: A New Musical tells the official story of the famous musical family, charting the rise of five brothers from Utah who became one of the biggest pop sensations of the 1970s.
The production follows their journey from early television appearances on The Andy Williams Show to sold-out arenas and international stardom, while also exploring the challenges faced behind the scenes.
Featuring more than 20 hit songs, including Down By The Lazy River, Crazy Horses, Puppy Love and Love Me For A Reason, the musical combines the group’s biggest hits with a story of family, fame and resilience.
The show is based on a story by Jay Osmond, with a book by Julian Bigg and Shaun Kerrison, and additional material by Amanda Whittington.
Jay Osmond said: “Ever since the original UK production closed in 2022, people have continually asked me when The Osmonds: A New Musical would return. This musical is my personal story of growing up in one of the world’s most recognized musical families, recalling the music, memories, challenges and extraordinary journey I experienced along the way. I’m thrilled that the show can now be enjoyed and performed by professional and amateur groups across the UK, US and Canada.”
The first licensed North American production is set to take place in April 2027 in Rochester, New York, presented by OFC Creations Theatre and directed by Eric Vaughn Johnson.
Applications to stage The Osmonds: A New Musical are now open.
