The 2015 production of The Wiz, originally broadcast live and featuring Queen Latifah, Mary J Blige and Amber Riley, will be made available to UK audiences for free for 48 hours from 7.00pm BST on Friday 12th June via Universal’s The Shows Must Go On YouTube channel.
Universal has confirmed that beloved musical productions will continue to run via the channel, with The Sound of Music streaming after the initial Andrew Lloyd Webber series of shows. Last weekend Hairspray Live, featuring Ariana Grande and Jennifer Hudson was streamed. To date, millions of musical theatre fans around the globe have tuned in and donated hundreds of thousands of pounds to charity, whilst watching and singing-a-long at home.
