The Young Vic announces their sold out productions of Hamlet and YV Unpacked: Love Reign will be streamed online globally to audiences, as part of their ongoing commitment of providing digital access to their work.
The highly anticipated production of Hamlet, starring Cush Jumbo and Adrian Dunbar, will be streamed for four performances 28 – 30 October as part of Best Seat in Your House, the Young Vic’s immersive multi-camera player that allows audience members to pick their preferred camera angle during the live show. The broadcast experience is designed uniquely for the production, with multiple cameras positioned to offer unique perspectives of the live shows. Captioning, audio description and BSL interpretation will be available for every stream. Tickets go on sale at 12noon today, Weds 29 September.
Young Vic Taking Part will stream their production of Love Reign, an eclectic piece of new writing, fusing narrative and a live, soulful house soundtrack, written by Shereen Jasmin Phillips and directed by Stef O’Driscoll. The show will be streamed on 22 October via Zoom, and will be captioned. Tickets go on sale Weds 6 October, 12noon.
Love Reign is a professional production which will tour to venues in Lambeth and Southwark where theatre is not regularly performed, before a performance run at the Young Vic. Venues hosting the YV Unpacked tour of Love Reign will include schools, women’s centres and a range of community spaces who provided focused support for different groups, including people who have experienced homelessness, and those with learning disabilities, autism and mental health needs.
For both Hamlet and Love Reign, at least 10% of broadcast tickets will be offered free to schools, neighbours and early-career artists, mirroring the accessible ticketing model the Young Vic commits to for live performances.
Tickets for Best Seat in Your House broadcast performances of Hamlet go on sale today, 12noon. YV Unpacked: Love Reign broadcast performance goes on sale Weds 6 October, 12noon.
